But that loveliness often comes with a price tag. And we were discriminating in our sorting. The summer off-season is best for low prices, and rates can drop substantially if you book for more than a few days. But plenty of these places fit our budget in every season. Here are 10 inexpensive Caribbean hotels to remember.

The only part of our experience that we didn't know is that you have isoand rent snorkeling gear, kayaks, paddleboards, etc- they are not complimentary unless you are staying as a resort guest, not with a private owner. That just begins to scratch the surface! Very clean, modern home which allows you to enjoy your vacation with the experience of feeling at home. We definitely will be back! Darryl and Deb were the most accomodating during my stay for all of my island needs. There is no way to beat a place right on the beach! I will be going back to this island with my family for vacation and will definetely stay with them again!

Thank you both so much! My goodness. Darryl and Deb have the absolutely best spot on the island - not to mention their incredible generosity and hospitality. My husband and I stayed at their place for our honeymoon and were blown away. The condo was exactly as pictured: steps from the beach, incredibly clean, and fully stocked with everything you need to have a good time. They even had a little snack basket and personalized card for us during our stay! We feel so fortunate to have been able to book with them.

If you ever get the chance, stay at their place! We will be back and can not wait!! We had such a wonderful and relaxing time.

The condo was exactly what was pictured and exactly what we needed. So beautiful and convenient. A direct walk out to the gorgeous beach with a stunning view to wake up to each morning. We never wanted to leave. Deb and Darryl were great. They offer airport pick-up, but we chose to rent a car. Instead they met us at the condo for check in and we were on our own in paradise, but were close by if we needed anything. The condo is incredibly organized with instructions, directions, and local tips perfectly organized in helpful binder.

We highly recommend you book your stay here now. It is absolutely perfect. Our stay exceeded our expectations. The condo exits directly onto beautiful Sapphire Beach. The small bar, restaurant and water sports are available right there. We went parasailing and only had to walk 2 minutes to the marina to get on the boat. Darryl and Deb are excellent hosts and even though we only stayed 2 days, they went above and beyond to ensure a great stay. They even met us in the parking lot and and helped us carry our luggage.

We had a a problem getting into the safe in the condo and Darryl was there in 5 minutes to resolve the problem. The condo is modern, clean and well equipped. They have snorkel gear, beach chairs, towels and much more to use. The location is a 2 minute drive to the ferry to St John and only a couple more minutes to Red Hook.

Highly recommend their condo and will stay again in the future. Book this condo!!!!! Games, a variety of snacks, and countless amenities were provided when we arrived.

Any question I had was answered within seconds. When you walk out the back patio, you are literally on the beach. We were greeted with a sweet card telling us to enjoy our stay. It was great to wake up to the ocean every morning. The place is also very convenient to Red Hook which was a plus. We had a great time at Villa East. The views were amazing! The accommodations were very comfortable. The location of the property allowed easy access to the pool and the private beach below which is literally just steps away.

There was construction going on when we were there for the reopening of the onsite restaurant which is just below the unit and swimming pool. The kitchen, although small think galley was adequately stocked with everything one could ever need.

We did a have a couple of hiccups such as the refrigerator going out on us. This was taken care of immediately by the owner, Alan, and onsite staff. I have to say that everyone at Villa East was terrific. He handled everything with grace and truly seemed invested in making sure that our stay there was everything that we dreamed for.

Thanks Alan! I would come back and stay and would recommend Alan and his condo to everyone looking for a little piece of paradise. The place was great. We enjoyed our stay there. We got very detailed describtion of neighborhood's food locations.

The view from the balcony was amazing. I would highly recommend this place to everyone. Cutting to the chase: this place is a delight in every way. First the location couldn't be better, overlooking the sea and the islands. You truly can fall asleep to the sound of the waves lapping the shore.

Point Pleasant itself is a wonder. It's really part resort, part nature preserve. Every morning we looked forward to seeing our favorite iguanas sunning themselves in the treetops just below the balcony. And when they had warmed sufficiently, they would leisurely much on the green leaves. Is it hilly? Yes it is, but this only adds to the charm. But you only notice this when you go up to the main pavilion for snorkel gear.

We were able to check the gear out for the whole week, so it really wasn't an issue. And you can always call for a golf cart, or just drive up. On the way back from the beach, we would always drop in and exchange our wet beach towels for fresh ones. The clean, refreshing pool is only a few steps away, and a few steps further is Jack's Bight, a hip sort of piraty in a good way restaurant.

We got to know the chef, Todd, and when I asked about a lobster, he whipped out his phone, made a call, and voila, my lobster arrived a couple of nights later.

They had a band on a couple of nights and they always stop at 10 so no worry about noise! Here's my idea of a morning. Breakfast, either in the apartment or at Jack's, 5 minute walk to Coki beach to snorkel and feed the fish dog bone biscuits you can buy them there or stock up at the Food Center - get the large ones , walk back right as the cruise ship folks are transported in midday - first try the cooked plantains , jump in the pool, then maybe drive over to Leinster beach 10 minute drive which is wide and heavenly.

Then back for whatever Todd can whip up for dinner. It's also a short drive to the car barge, or passenger ferry to St. John which you must not miss tip: hit Trunk Bay first thing, then as the cruise ship folks arrive, head further out to the beaches that they never reach! We rented a jeep on St. Thomas and used the car barge which was great.

Driving on the left is a breeze, just remember, shoulder to the shoulder! And the drivers were much nicer than they are here in Nashville. I also recommend taking a day sail on Morningstar or Winifred. Highlight of my trip. And Josh and David are great cooks. Just do it. It really is worth it. Alan was incredibly helpful A few things right: everything you needed for the beach was provided chairs, snorkel equipment, umbrella, cooler, bucket ; the view during the day and sound of the waves at night; the complimentary rum and coke.

The host was quick to respond to our issues and concerns and we were refunded for one night of our 2 night stay. Villa East commands a spectacular view over Water Bay, and is a short minutes walk to Coki beach, no doubt one of the noteworthy beaches in St Thomas - lots of local people, and food shacks.

But what we liked even better was the nearby Lindquist sp? The convenient restaurants close to the property were closed down for renovation, which was a bummer. We took the ferry to St John one morning, and hiked to Salomon beach, which was outstanding.

In general, although St Thomas has lovely beaches, plan on visiting the ones in St John , they are top notch.

Love swimming and snorkeling here. One of the nicest beaches on the island. Very clean and now there is a bar located across the street. We took a jeep tour around the island which we saw so many beaches. Something to draw one to the beach or draw you to another beach that one may like better. All had beautiful blue water. Some have pretty white sand but some didn't This is a terrific spot if you want to snorkel and find sea turtles! We went by boat and the snorkeling was great. The water was crystal clear and the beach was not very crowded this time of year.
